The Painter’s Rag:
Monthly Wit And Wisdom
From Your Friendly And Professional Fine Painting Company
Okay, so, you know that your friendly experts at Imhoff Fine Residential Painting Company can provide your home with the finest paint job you can find, inside or out.
(That’s painting the inside or outside of your home… not that you can find paint jobs either inside or outside. If you have a painter, such as Chuck In A Truck, hanging out in your bushes outside, we recommend a quick call to the authorities.)
We can provide the very best “fresh coat of love” for your home, for several reasons. We employ professionals, not just subcontractors, and we’re fully covered insurance-wise. We train our people like no other company does, in our own state-of-the-art training facility.
And, unlike Chuck or his ilk, we’re proud members of the Painting Contractors Association (PCA), a nationwide professional organization which does things like hold nice conventions and give out awards to the nation’s best painters.
Hey, speaking of that! Imhoff Fine Residential Painting Company just won one of those prestigious, highly-coveted awards at the last PCA convention!
How ‘bout that! It was our first award from the PCA, and it was the first time they’d given that award to a residential painting company since… well, ever!
Here’s what happened: Way back when, the town of Breckenridge used a rotary snowplow locomotive to clear the passes so that important supplies such as picks, shovels, ski parkas, women, playing cards, and whiskey could make it to the hard-working miners and others.
Time passed (like, a century), and someone had the great idea to create a little public park in town to honor the memory of, and to include in person (person?) the train itself. So they put the antique rotary snow plow in the park, and gave the park a catchy name:
Rotary Snowplow Park.
There was much rejoicing, to be sure, but the locomotive itself wasn’t in great shape after all those years. There were chips of lead-based paint the size of potato chips falling off the old girl. (NO, kids, you must not snack on those chips!)
A friend of ours referred us to the town, and we gave the train a nice coat of epoxy aluminum mastic, which for those of you who aren’t familiar with painting terms, means that we gave it a fresh coat of love.
The antique rotary snow plow locomotive in Breckenridge’s Rotary Snowplow Park is now a thing of beauty, and the envy of rotary snowplow parks throughout the Rocky Mountain West. We understand there has been even more rejoicing because of this… and we rejoiced a little ourselves, when the PCA handed us that award!
So keep us in mind when your home needs a little sprucing-up… but remember, we do more than just residential painting! We can also do…
… light remodeling (sometimes this is needed before something can be painted),
… removal of popcorn ceilings (so that the ceilings can get a fresh coat of love),
… resurfacing of concrete, in your garage or out on the back patio,
… antique rotary snowplow locomotive restorations, and
… garbage disposal repair and maintenance.
(Wait, that last one wandered onto the list by mistake. We don’t do that.)
Check out our many enthusiastic five-star online reviews, then give us a call. We’ll send our expert estimator out to help you explore how your home, office, garage, patio, or locomotive can get a fresh coat of love. We can’t wait to earn our next great award from the PCA. And, even more valuable to us, we can’t wait to earn our next great online review from you!

Discussion Questions
1. Do you have a “painter” hiding in your bushes out front? Go take a quick look to be sure
2. Using a slide rule, calculate the odds of a residential painting company winning a national award for restoring an antique locomotive in a public park. Show your math
3. Do you have some kind of crazy-sounding project that needs to be done at your place, and you’re only now learning you might be able to have Imhoff Fine Residential Painting
Company and their award-winning painting family take care of it without bringing in four other “handyman” companies?
Send your answers to doug@imhoffpaintingcompany.com… The most clever, creative responses will be eligible to WIN A PRIZE! *
(* Prize is at the sole discretion of Doug Imhoff, his heirs and assigns, and a select committee of rotary snowplow locomotive engineers and their heirs, who are mostly ski bums these days. The Grand Prize this month may or may not be a rotary snowplow locomotive. Probably not, but maybe a nifty scale model of one. Probably not that either. The smart money is on “candy.” But hey, it will be a grand prize… otherwise, how could we call it The Grand Prize? Odds of winning are odd. Deadline is even odder. Boring, lackluster, or unimaginative entries will be tied to the train tracks by a handlebar-moustache wearing sinister villain-type guy. This would be dreadful, of course, so don’t let it happen to YOUR entry. Keep it pithy! Good luck.)
